Insurance, in plain English
I don't take insurance, and I don't deal with insurance companies. That is exactly what lets every visit be a full hour with me. If your plan has out-of-network physical therapy benefits, you may be able to get part of the cost back yourself:
- 1You pay at each visit with cash, card, or your HSA/FSA card.
- 2At the end of your plan of care, I give you a superbill: an itemized receipt with the codes your insurer needs.
- 3You submit it to your insurance company through their app or portal. It takes a few minutes.
- 4They reimburse you according to your out-of-network benefits. Any follow-up with them is between you and your insurer.
Why the math often works out
A typical in-network clinic gives you 15 to 20 minutes of the therapist's attention inside a slot shared with other patients, two or three times a week, for weeks. A full hour here, one-on-one, moves faster. Most people need fewer visits to get to the same place.
Three questions to ask your insurer before you book: Do I have out-of-network PT benefits? What's my out-of-network deductible and how much is met? What percentage do you reimburse after that?
FAQ
Pricing questions
Do you take insurance?
No, and that's the reason every visit here is a full hour with me. You pay with cash, card, or an HSA/FSA card. If your plan has out-of-network physical therapy benefits, I'll give you a superbill at the end of your plan of care that you can submit to your insurer yourself for reimbursement.
What is a superbill and how do I use it?
It's an itemized receipt with the diagnosis and treatment codes your insurance company needs. I provide one at the end of your plan of care. You upload it to your insurer's portal or app, and they reimburse you according to your out-of-network benefits. Submitting it and any follow-up with the insurance company is on your end; I don't deal with insurers directly, which is what keeps my time yours.
How much does it cost?
An initial evaluation is $175 and follow-up visits are $150, each a full hour one-on-one. Dry needling is a $25 add-on, in-home visits are $200 to $250 depending on distance, and virtual visits are $125. Packages of 5 ($675) and 10 ($1,200) bring the per-visit cost down. Full details are on the pricing page.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. Physical therapy is a qualified medical expense, so HSA and FSA cards work like any other card.
